OUR HISTORY
Frozenyo's history is different than what you might expect. The Frozenyo brand was born in late 2009, and initially began as a franchise opportunity. Excited by the opportunity to join the frozen yogurt boom and open their own business, husband and wife team Kevin and Carole McMahon invested in the franchise—opening their own store near Howard University. Within 2 years of launching, Frozenyo had 20 locations across the country.
After the addition of bus lanes and the removal of street parking near their store location, Kevin and Carole relocated to Woodley Park in December 2015.
Then one day, the corporation behind Frozenyo closed – and the franchisees started closing their locations. Kevin and Carole's location weathered the storm and then continued to thrive. Today, they are the only remaining Frozenyo locations and the sole operators of the Frozenyo brand.
Since then, their business has expanded beyond frozen yogurt to focus on bringing residents and visitors of Washington, DC all of the best frozen treats—including soft serve and farm fresh hand scooped ice cream.
Frozenyo is the ultimate destination for treating yourself.
Amazing variety of frozen yogurt, sorbet, ice cream and incredible amount of sides. I also have had their boardwalk fries and chicken tenders. My son and I went there last week and had the best customer service as well. They made us both feel like family.
